What is 21 days of annual leave?
21 days of annual leave in leave policy is a period of paid time off work granted by employers to employees to be used for whatever the employee wishes. Depending on the company annual leave policy, the employee may be required to give a certain amount of advance notice, may have to coordinate with the employer to be sure that staffing is available during the employee's absence, and other requirements may have to be met.
According to Saudi Labor Law, the employee shall enjoy his leave in the year it is due. He may not renounce it or receive cash in lieu during his period of service.
How to calculate annual leave?
An employee's annual leave are calculated using the following formula:
Annual Leave Balance = (Number of Accrued Annual Leave Days / 12 Months) x Period for which Annual leave entitlements are being calculated.
The result is the total number of accrued leave days.
How is annual leave paid?
To determine the compensation due for annual leave balances that the employee has not actually taken, multiply total accrued leave days by the employee's daily wage value.
What are leave types in Saudi Arabia leave policy?
Saudi arabia leave policy should include the following leaves:
Annual Leave: A minimum of 21 days per year.
Eid Holidays: Includes Eid al-Fitr (starting the day after Ramadan 29) and Eid al-Adha (starting on the Day of Arafah).
National Occasions: National Day and Founding Day.
Bereavement Leave: Five days in the event of the death of an employee's spouse, parent, or child.
