Salasa has two sets of offerings:
A. Offline:
- Mega fulfillment centers: large-scale facilities to receive stocks of our clients, store them, prepare orders and dispatch them.
- Darstores: small warehouses distrubuted across main cities to do on-demand delivery and two-hour delivery.
- Last mile delivery: through our own subsidiary or aggregator option.
- Bonded-zones (new): custom-free areas where merchants can store their products withouth the need for licenses and registrations.
- Cross-border (new): enabling merchants from anywhere in the world to ship to anywhere in the world.
B. Online: Salasa One (order management system) with integrations with online web stores such as Zed, Salla and Shopify and with warehouse management systems and transport management system. This is the one-stop-shop for our clients to manage their processes and supply chain end-to-end.
As a UX/UI Designer & Researcher at Salasa, you will play a vital role in designing intuitive digital experiences and uncovering deep user insights that will support the Head of Product to shape the product roadmap. You’ll work cross-functionally with product managers, product marketing, engineers, and business stakeholders to ensure Salasa delivers best-in-class user experiences for couriers, merchants, and co-assignees.
This role combines design execution with user research, helping Salasa become the most user-centric fulfillment and shipping provider in the GCC. You’ll help bridge the gap between user needs and business goals through evidence-based design thinking.
Key Responsibilities
🎨 UX/UI Design
- Lead the end-to-end design process from discovery and wireframes to high-fidelity UI and developer hand-off.
- Design intuitive user journeys, personas, and flows across Salasa’s merchant, courier, and co-assignee experiences.
- Create polished, scalable designs and interactive prototypes using Figma or Adobe XD.
- Maintain and evolve Salasa’s design system to ensure visual and functional consistency.
- Collaborate with product managers and developers to ensure high-quality implementation of designs.
🔍 User Research
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research (e.g., interviews, surveys, usability testing) to uncover pain points and opportunities.
- Support Salasa in unlocking user insights across all core user types to guide product and business decisions.
- Develop a structured research agenda aligned with strategic initiatives.
- Analyze feedback, behaviors, and satisfaction data to inform improvements across products and services.
🤝 Collaboration & GTM Support
- Collaborate with Product Marketing to develop compelling go-to-market content for new feature releases.
- Partner with Product to create user-centered designs that are empathetic and grounded in research.
- Work with Product and Marketing to build and manage user communities for fast, reliable feedback loops.
- Drive continuous learning across teams by sharing actionable user insights and advocating for user needs.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI, Psychology, Research, or a related field.
- 0–2 years of experience in UX/UI design and/or user research, preferably in a startup, tech, logistics, or e-commerce setting.
- Experience working in agile teams and iterative product development.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong portfolio showcasing UX design and research work across web and/or mobile.
- Proficiency with Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.
- Familiarity with design thinking, user-centered design, and usability principles.
- Ability to conduct interviews, usability tests, and analyze survey results.
- Comfortable using tools like Miro, Typeform, Hotjar, or survey platforms.
- Strong communicator who can turn insights into clear, actionable design decisions.
- Familiarity with HTML/CSS/JavaScript is a plus (not mandatory).
- Bilingual in Arabic and English is preferred.
