Job Title : IWRM Coordinator                                                                                        

Reporting to : Environment and Climate Change Coordinator with technical oversight from IWRM Expert       

 

Sector : FSL                                                                                                                                               

Location : Hadramout-Sayun Office, with travel to other cities like Mukalla and Aden as per need

                                             

Purpose of Assignment                                                                                                   

 

The coordinator will provide full-time administrative, logistical, and coordination support to the IWRM Expert and task force to ensure smooth implementation of the Wadi Hadramout IWRM master plan preparation process. The position ensures effective coordination among project partners, stakeholders, and technical teams to promote sustainable water management, agricultural resilience, and climate adaptation practices.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:                                                                             

 

  • Support the IWRM Expert in coordinating all project activities related to water resources management at the field and institutional levels.
  • Support mapping of stakeholders and establish contact databases.                  
  • Assist the IWRM Expert in conducting water resource assessments, workshop and catchment analysis.
  • Ensure integration of climate adaptation, gender mainstreaming, and conflict sensitivity in IWRM approaches.
  • Organize meetings, workshops, and field missions.                                            
  • Manage communication with technical paper contributors and follow-up.
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of project documents, maps, and technical reports along with financial and procurement documentation in coordination with NMO admin team.
  • Oversee all logistical arrangements for the seminar/conference (venue, invitations, participants, materials) including initiating and following up purchasing requests.
  • Maintain updated schedules and support IWRM study project monitoring.
  • Prepare minutes of meetings and draft progress reports.                                   
  • Supervise ongoing activities from FuTuRe2 Project funded by WFP when needed.
  • Any other tasks related to the post and IWRM study.                                          

 

     Education ·                                                                                                                                                        

  •           Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Development Studies, Environmental Science, or related fields.

                                                                                     
  •           Professional Experience:                                                                                                 
  •          3–5 years of experience in project coordination within NGOs, UN, or        government .                                                                                                    

                                                                                                     

    Professional Skills & Competencies                                                                            

       

  • Familiarity with water, WASH, or environmental projects in Yemen an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of IWRM principles, and climate change adaptation.      
  • Strong communication skills in Arabic and working English knowledge.           
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to multitask under pressure.              
  • Excellent reporting skills.
